A wedding venue on the
Royal Albert Dock.

A heritage room by the water in Liverpool, with flowers everywhere you look. We open autumn/winter 2026 and wedding enquiries are open now.

The Hartley is a wedding reception venue at Atlantic Pavilion on the Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool, opening autumn/winter 2026: a heritage dockside room with seated and standing areas and a flexible layout. There are no packages; we agree a minimum spend for your date and everything your party eats and drinks counts towards it. We are taking enquiries now and will confirm dates once our opening date is fixed.

The room

Built in brick,
dressed in flowers

A warehouse room on the dock, all exposed brick, iron columns and candlelight, with the water outside the windows. Seated and standing areas, and a layout we shape around your day: a long-table dinner, a big standing reception, or both as the night moves on.

The florals are not hired in for the day. The Hartley is dressed head to toe in them all year round, so the room you visit is the room you get married against.

Minimum spend, not packages

How a Hartley wedding works

No per-head packages and no menu tiers. We agree a minimum spend for your date, and the celebration itself is what gets you there.

  1. 1

    Pick your day

Marry at a licensed venue or register office nearby, then bring everyone to the dock. We host the reception, with the room dressed and lit for you.

  2. 2

    We agree a minimum spend

The level depends on the day of the week and time of year. Tell us your date and we will give you the number for it, in writing, with no obligation.

  3. 3

Food and drink count towards it

Everything your party eats and drinks on the day goes towards the minimum. A full room enjoying itself is usually all it takes.

Into the evening

Candlelight, cocktails
and the dock after dark

By evening the room turns into the bar it is the rest of the week: pools of amber light, a proper cocktail list and a DJ booth ready for the dancing. No function-room feel, because it is not a function room.

The morning after, bring whoever is left for brunch. We are a coffee and brunch house by day, and a wedding party the day before does not change that.

Wedding venue FAQs

Can we hold our wedding ceremony at The Hartley?

Not the legal part. The Hartley is a reception venue and does not hold a ceremony licence. Most couples marry at a licensed venue or register office nearby, then come to us for the reception. We are happy to help with timings.

How does the minimum spend work?

We agree a minimum spend for your date rather than charging a package price per head. Everything your party eats and drinks on the day counts towards it, so the celebration itself is what pays for the room.

How much does a wedding at The Hartley cost?

It depends on the day of the week and the time of year, because we work on a minimum spend rather than fixed packages. Tell us your date and numbers and we will give you a straight answer for that day.

How many guests can you have?

The room has seated and standing areas and we are flexible on layout. A long-table dinner and a big standing reception both work; tell us your numbers when you enquire and we will tell you honestly how the room suits them.

When can we book?

We are taking enquiries now and will start confirming dates as soon as our opening date is fixed. Enquire today and you will be first in line for your date, with no obligation.
